December 2016

December 2016

December 2016 will be remembered as a significant month of many major planetary aspects. All these aspects together indicate that the world is experiencing a historically significant time.

In the first week of December 2016, Mars in Aquarius is in a semi-sextile Pluto and Uranus. That means a dynamic and results-oriented atmosphere. The beginning of December 2016 indicates a promising start, but all is not what it seems.

At the beginning of December 2016, the influence of Mercury going to hit the brakes on 15º Capricorn will be felt. Mercury turns retrograde from December 19, 2016.
While this so-called shadow period there are worldwide delays in traffic and in business and problems with communication.

And Jupiter in Libra is on the warpath.
In the first week of December 2016, Jupiter in Libra is still squaring Pluto in Capricorn.
This square between Jupiter and Pluto began on November 11 2016 and will last until December 4, 2016. This energy represents religious intolerance and fanaticism. This planetary battle also marks the global social polarization. Jupiter in Libra squaring Pluto in Capricorn describes the worldwide disproportionate distribution of wealth and the struggle for social justice in a world of injustice and inequality. When fundamental principles can not be guaranteed, insecurity and fear will rule. Fear is the breeding ground for populism.
Religious dogmas or political manipulation could lead to escalation and extreme forms of religious intolerance and fanaticism.
The diplomatic intention of Jupiter in Libra can not compete with the transformative power of Pluto in Capricorn. The influence of the square between Jupiter in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn will be strongly present in the world until the end of Summer of 2017.

Between December 9, 2016 and March 11, 2017, Jupiter opposites Uranus in Aries in the universal arena. This opposition builds a dynamic T-square formed by Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto.
Jupiter in Libra opposites Uranus in Aries also describes the social polarization and cry for justice. A collective awakening. Protest!
The citizens versus the political elite. The "establishment".
More and more people are dissatisfied with the way things are and want to have more say.
But because people are not heard, populism is gaining ground worldwide.
More and more people want to set their own course and want to make their own development, free from dogmas and imposed rules. People want to decide for themselves what is good and feels good. What is just or is not. More and more people will be taking the law into their own hands.
For so many years, there has been social, cultural, ethnic and spiritual inequality, legal errors and injustice. People want change.
But instead of change, it just seems to be getting worse. Of course, there are rules in this society. Without rules there is chaos.
Jupiter challenges Uranus to establish to profound reforms in the legal system. Only a legal system based on social equality can lead to real justice.
From December 18 2016 to January 5, 2017, the insurgent influence of Jupiter Opposition Uranus will be strongly felt in the world. This effect is enhanced by the square between Jupiter and Pluto. The planetary opposition between Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries will return one more time between September 19 and October 6, 2017.

From December 7 to December 17, 2016, the annual Geminid Meteor Rain occurs. The Geminids Meteor Rain show as 120 multicolored meteors per hour! These "shooting stars" consist of debris from the asteroid 3200 Phaethon, which was discovered in 1982. Most "shooting stars" are falling from 13 to December 14, 2016. The Geminids get their name from the constellation Gemini, but of course these fickle Gemini shooting stars can appear anywhere in the sky!

On its journey through the zodiac, our lovely Venus enters Aquarius on December 8, 2016 and remains there until January 3, 2017. Everything is possible with Venus in Aquarius, however expect the unexpected! Venus in Aquarius wants to be "free" in any kind of commitment! This energy indicates a more independent energy and underlines the troubled atmosphere in the world.

From December 10 2016 to January 13, 2017, we should rejoice at the planetary dance between Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries. This support energy takes place every 45 years and should be seen as planetary band aid in this turbulent period.
The vehemence of Jupiter opposing Uranus squaring Pluto is thus somewhat softened. This planetary dance shows potential to manifest unconventional ideas within the structures to enable positive changes!
Saturn trine Uranus ensures stability in the world. A moment of peace and hope in this polarizing world.
On December 24, 2016, a Bridge in Fire will be build on the axis at 20º Sagittarius/Aries, so this promises to be a very special Christmas.
In 2017 Saturn and Uranus will find each other again. That will be between May 1 and June 6, 2017 and a third time between October 28 and November 26, 2017.

This indicates to hidden agendas and secret agreements that will be cleared up during and after this retrograde period. It is advisable that day, to be vigilant in business meetings and in making investments. The rest of the month carries the same energy.

From December 20 2016 until January 28, 2017 Mars is traveling through Pisces.
The fiery Mars definitely does not feel at home in the watery realm of King Neptune. Suppressed feelings and anger come at the surface. Confidence and decisive action are unlikely. People operate form emotion and tempers can run high at that time.
During that time, we see the potential for an attack or outburst of energy to compensate the surpressed Mars’ energy.

On this special day, the magical turning point of the Winter Solstice takes place.
This is the first day of Winter (winter solstice) in the northern hemisphere and the first day of Summer (summer solstice) in the southern hemisphere.
The Winter Solstice is the shortest day, when the night is at its longest.

On the day of the Winter Solstice, we should rejoice at the annual Ursids Meteor shower in the constellation Ursa Minor. This meteor shower are debris from the comet Tuttle, discovered in 1790 and can be seen every year from 17 to 25 December.

On the world stage, this indicates as a joyous stable period to the end of 2016. This beautiful trine indicates brilliant ideas revealed on the global scale. This Bridge in Fire will return thanks to retrogradation in May/June 2017 and October/November 2017.

Christmas weekend in 2016 will be very special.
During the dance of Saturn and Uranus, Jupiter is at 20º in Libra.
Uranus is exactly opposite Jupiter and that is rare. The wise old Saturn fulfills the role of "referee" providing Uranus and Jupiter with mitigating aspects. Christmas 2016 will be a memorable time for anyone who has their ascendant, Sun, Moon or other planets on 20º Aries, Libra or Sagittarius in the natal chart. These people will be having tremendous changes and great opportunities and important life lessons. Doors will open, but also closed.

However, the Uranus morning pitcher can lead to global revolt.
There will be fierce discussions and radical ideas and new visions for the future. This revolutionary aspect can bring real change. From this moment, a period unfolds that will be marked by major reorganizations and strikes. This period lasts until the beginning of August 2017.

Jupiter and Uranus keep challenging each other to September 2017. From the end of March 2017 until beginning of August 2017 the tone is slightly tempered by the retrograde Jupiter, but in September 2017, Jupiter in Libra will be opposite Uranus in Aries again.
The call for humanitarian change is irreversible.
The opposition Jupiter and Uranus in Aries marks a revolutionary aspect in our society.

On December 31, 2016 Mars and Neptune Pisces join hands and form a harmonious conjunction. A soothing planetary band aid, you might think.
This conjunction certainly has a creative potential and ambiance and is great for art projects, dance and artistic forms of expression ....
However, this conjunction also blurs the boundaries.
Mars wants to cross borders and Neptune doesn’t worry about boundaries.
In this volatile period of turmoil, many seek solace in a self-created dream world and lose themselves in drink and drugs.
The combination Mars/Neptune in Pisces can also cause anxiety, threat, violence, terrorism, cyber attacks, infectious diseases and flooding.
This conjunction between Mars and Neptune in Pisces will be exact at 9º on January 1, 2017.

But at the end of 2016, we especially want to experience the illusion of togetherness and unity.

I wish you all an exciting month of December!
